slow down or move over for garbage & utility vehicles or you will be charged

Drivers on Florida roadways will be charged for a moving violation if they fail to move over or slow down at least 20 mph when passing garbage and utility vehicles pursuant to a new law our legislature passed in the last session.  You will be ticketed and it won’t be pretty (3 points on your license and a ticket for hundreds of dollars).  The Florida Deptartment of Highway and Safety claims that the number one fatality of employees driving these vehicles are other drivers hitting them when they are stopped on the roadway.

Please remember to slow down or move over when you see collection vehicles stopped on the roadway.
